Where is my Marqly data stored?

Your Marqly data — bookmarks, tags, highlights, and notes — is stored in secure cloud infrastructure, tied to your private account. Cloud storage is what makes the product work: your library syncs across your devices, so a save made in Chrome on your laptop is instantly searchable from the web app or the iOS app. The privacy policy describes what’s stored and how it’s handled.

Why cloud storage, not local files

A bookmark manager that only lives on one machine fails at its main job. Because your library lives in your account rather than on a single device:

• Every save is available everywhere you sign in — extension, web app at app.marqly.com, and iOS.
• Losing or replacing a device doesn’t lose your library.
• AI features — auto-tagging, summaries, semantic search — run against your whole library, not just what happens to be on the current machine.

Note that Marqly has no offline reading mode; your library is accessed through your signed-in devices.

Who can see it

Only you, through your account. Saves are private by default; the single exception is a board you deliberately share as a public page, which is an explicit action on your part. Marqly’s business model is Pro subscriptions, not advertising, so your data isn’t the product — does Marqly sell my data goes deeper on that.

Your data stays portable

Stored in the cloud doesn’t mean locked in the cloud. You can request a full export of your data by emailing support@marqly.com — see can I export my data — and you can delete your account and its data entirely whenever you choose.
