How do I delete my Marqly account?

Delete your Marqly account from account settings at app.marqly.com, or email support@marqly.com. Deletion removes your saves — export your data first.

You can delete your Marqly account from your account settings at app.marqly.com, or by emailing support@marqly.com from the address on your account. Deleting your account removes your saves — bookmarks, tags, highlights, and notes go with it. If there’s anything in your library you want to keep, request an export before you delete.

Before you delete: export

Account deletion is the one action on this list that removes your data, so the order matters:

  1. Email support@marqly.com and request a full export — see can I export my data.
  2. Wait until you have the export in hand.
  3. Then delete the account, either from settings or by asking support to do it.

Ten minutes of sequencing protects years of saved links.

Make sure deletion is what you want

Three different actions get conflated here, and they have very different consequences:

  • Canceling Pro stops billing but keeps your account and library on the free tier — nothing is deleted. See how do I cancel my subscription.
  • Going inactive costs nothing. The free tier has no card requirement and doesn’t expire, so an account you don’t touch for a year is still there, saves intact.
  • Deleting your account removes your saves. This is the only irreversible option.

If your goal is just “stop paying,” cancel — don’t delete. If your goal is “stop paying but keep a backup,” cancel and export.

Why deletion is straightforward here

Marqly’s revenue comes from subscriptions, not from holding or monetizing your data, so there’s no incentive to make leaving difficult. The privacy policy covers data handling formally. And if anything about the process is unclear or doesn’t work, email support@marqly.com — a human will sort it out.
