How do I get a YouTube transcript?

With the Marqly extension installed, open any video on YouTube and select the Transcript tab on the Marqly card on the watch page. The full transcript appears right there — no third-party transcript site, no copy-paste gymnastics. The transcript follows the video as it plays, so you always know where you are in the text. That makes it easy to read along, catch an exact phrasing, or double-check something you just heard without scrubbing back through the timeline.

The copy button grabs the complete transcript at once. From there it’s plain text you can use anywhere: paste it into a doc, drop it into your notes, or feed it to whatever tool you’re working with. No expanding YouTube’s own transcript panel and dragging a selection through hundreds of lines.

Keep the transcript with the video

If the video is worth keeping, click the Marqly bookmark button in YouTube’s action row — it saves the video with its transcript attached. That means the video stays findable later by things that were said in it, not just its title.

Skip reading it raw

A transcript of an hour-long video is a wall of text. If you want the substance without the wall, the AI Summary tab on the same card turns the transcript into a TL;DR, key sections, and books mentioned — and the Chat tab answers specific questions from it (Pro).
