What happens to my bookmarks if I cancel Marqly?
Your bookmarks stay. Canceling Marqly Pro moves you to the free tier — saves, tags, and highlights remain accessible. Canceling never deletes your data.
Nothing happens to your bookmarks. When you cancel Marqly Pro, your account drops to the free tier at the end of the billing period — and every save, tag, and highlight stays in your library, fully accessible. Canceling a subscription never deletes your data. You lose the Pro chat features, but the core save, auto-tag, and search experience keeps working indefinitely.
The free tier is a real landing spot
This matters because some subscription products effectively hold your data hostage: cancel, and your archive goes read-only or disappears after a grace period. Marqly’s free tier isn’t that. After canceling you can still save new links, get AI auto-tagging on them, and use semantic search across everything — including the saves you made while on Pro. Your library doesn’t freeze; it keeps growing if you want it to.
What you actually lose
Only the Pro features pause: chat with your saved content, and chat with YouTube videos through their transcripts. Summaries and answers you got from those features during your subscription don’t retroactively vanish your saves — the underlying bookmarks are yours either way. The exact split is in free vs Pro.
Timing
Cancellation takes effect when your paid period ends, not the moment you click cancel. Cancel an annual plan in month 3 and you keep Pro through month 12. The steps are in how do I cancel my subscription.
If you’re leaving entirely
Two separate actions, often confused: canceling stops billing but keeps your account and data; deleting your account removes everything. If you want a copy of your data before going anywhere, email support@marqly.com for an export — see can I export my data. And if you resubscribe later at app.marqly.com, your library is right where you left it.
